My Story
In 2013, I created my dream job coaching women, couples and men. It’s my passion to help people become their authentic, create deeper intimacy and have more toe-curling ecstasy after spending 10 years building my business, I realized had not taken a real vacation and needed more intimacy and passion in my own life.

She was right – the jungle and beach were the perfect combo of adventure and relaxation. My confidence expanded from the caving adventures, trekking ruins and canoeing the jungle. It was exhilarating! It stretched me and discovered a new version of myself.
The last half of the trip was on a little island 45-minutes off the coast called Caye Caulker. It’s a “Go Slow” laid back fishing village now tourist destination. The Caribbean sea rejuvenated me with breathtaking sunrises, sunsets, boat rides and snorkeling the Barrier Reef. I felt more alive than I had in years and my passion for life was renewed.
A Simple Life
What I didn’t expect was the little island of Caye Caulker would steal my heart!
This island felt like a step back into time when life was simple, connected and celebrated. Their motto “Go Slow” and attitude of you “can’t complain” because “everyday is paradise” was refreshing.
The island was full of happiness, good food, amazing people and a simple life… quietly hidden in the belly of Mother Nature.

DO IT YOURSELF PLANNING
Here are some top recommendations for places, providers, and accommodations that are known for their reliability. Make sure to conduct thorough research, as even minor details can greatly affect your trip – such as not having hot water!
Keep in mind that photos can often present a better picture than reality, potentially omitting nearby construction, noisy bars, or intrusive lights. Your choice of accommodation and its location will determine your transportation needs. The South island is generally walkable, particularly around the village or Split, though the South Point end requires a bike or cart. While the North Island isn’t walkable to the South Island, most places offer bikes, ferry options, or assistance with transportation – it’s wise to check with your accommodation.
Consider taking a puddle jumper flight from the airport to the island for convenience. This is a great option for a bit more money – assuming your flight is punctual and customs isn’t overly busy. Allocate 2.5 to 3 hours from your landing time to your next mode of transportation. Taxi services are readily available and affordable for reaching the water port, where you can purchase tickets for the next water taxi to the island.
For the best experience research and read reviews and keep in mind there’s a wealth of information available on Facebook groups. Communication is often conducted via What’s App and Facebook, while some businesses maintain a presence on Instagram.

Ok adventure-seeker, let’s talk packing for your epic getaway – the key is to keep it light and breezy!
For a week-long trip, you really don’t need a ton. Think travel-day clothes, a couple of shorts, and tank tops for daily wear. Don’t forget those comfy yoga or biking shorts – they’re perfect for exploring. And if you’re feeling fancy, toss in a few sundresses and stylish swimwear. Just remember, overdressing screams “tourist” louder than a megaphone!
Get ready for the quick-change game – you’ll likely switch outfits twice a day. Pack extra undies and bras, or hey, why not embrace the island vibe and go commando? 😉
Now, let’s talk about shoes – your trusty steeds for island exploration. Comfort is key here, especially on those uneven, pothole-riddled roads. Forget fashion, it’s all about practicality. And don’t skimp on the covered-toe water shoes for caving or water adventures – those sharp objects won’t stand a chance!
Beach essentials? Check. Pack 1-2 bathing suits, a cute cover-up, sun hat, shades, beach bag, and reef-safe sunscreen. Trust us, nobody wants to resemble a lobster after a day under the equatorial sun!
Heading out on excursions? Don’t forget the waterproof phone cover, dry bag, and a trusty portable charger. Oh, and a quality bug spray is non-negotiable – those pesky no-see’um bites are no joke!
If you’re visiting during the cooler months, toss in some t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, a light jacket, and maybe even some longer pants. Chilly evenings call for cozy layers!
So, pack smart, pack light, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
Here is what you definitely shouldn’t pack for your island escapade – trust me, I’ve got the inside scoop! I would have saved myself a lot of hassle if I had just listened to people!
First off, leave the makeup stash behind – it’ll just melt off in the tropical heat anyway. And forget about lugging along that curling iron – opt for scrunchies or rock a cute hat instead! There is no doing hair in humidity, but there is humidity hair!
As for bathroom essentials, less is more – you won’t need half the stuff you think you do. And those skyscraper heels? Leave ’em at home – this island’s all about flip-flops and sandals.
Say goodbye to your fancy threads – the vibe here is all about laid-back, island casual. And seriously, leave the laptop behind – you’re here to unwind, not work remotely!
Jewelry? Nah, it’s too hot for bling, and besides, natural vibes are where it’s at. And let’s be real – who wants to be the odd one out toting around an umbrella? Embrace the island life, my friend – no umbrellas needed here!
Other helpful information...
Yes, passports are mandatory along with proof of return. Visas are not required from the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Always travel with a photocopy of your passport so if your original gets lost the replacement process will be easier and faster.
Getting to Caye Caulker is possible by either taking a 10-minute plane ride from the international airport or a 45-minute boat ride from Belize City.
Flights cost $84.00 US one way or $168.00 US round trip. Scheduled flight times to Caye Caulker (CUK) from the International airport are 40 minutes after the hour, every hour. The last scheduled flight is 4:40 PM. Flight time is 10 minutes with Maya Island Air, airlines Tropic Air.
If you prefer to travel by boat you must first take a taxi cab from the International airport to the Marine Terminal in Belize City. The cost is $25 -$30 flat (not per person) for 2 persons and the ride is about 20 minutes. A taxi driver in Belize City can be arranged to meet you at the airport and drive you to the Marine Terminal.
From the Marine Terminal you simply catch the next boat to Caye Caulker with San Pedro Belize Express. The cost of the water taxi is under $25 one way and $50 round trip USD. The trip takes about 45 minutes. Plan to be at the dock no less than 30 minutes prior to departure time to insure you do not miss the boat.
Get the best of both worlds! Arrive by boat to enjoy the ocean and fly back to see the Great Barrier Reef from above!

Standard 110 volts, A.C. (compatible with appliances used in United States). Adapters are available at the front desk. If you do not wish to bring a hair dryer, we have a couple at the front desk that our guests can use during their stay with us.
Visa, MasterCard, traveler’s checks and US dollars are widely accepted. A number of businesses do add on a percentage (generally 5%) to use credit cards. The Inn is not one of those businesses. The exchange rate is set at $1.00 USD to $2.00 BZE dollars. There is also an ATM at the local bank (Atlantic Bank) that dispenses Belize dollars. Plan on spending your Belize dollars before you leave the country because they are difficult to exchange outside of Belize.
Tipping in Belize is how most people make their living on top of very low hourly wages. Cash and small bills (5’s, 10’s and 20’s) are best to bring and use. Cash tips are certainly appreciated and workers are also used to tips as part of their pay checks. Belize people are prideful and like to please and serve and tips are the reward as much as your happiness! Customary is 20% of service or more if you’re super happy!
It’s customary to tip tour guides and excursion crews, wait staff, hotel staff, bag handlers, massage therapists, hairstylist, nail technicians, etc. or for special help (i.e. deliveries, stops, extra tours.)
The average taxi fee is $10 BZD. That is for standard ride, with minimal luggage to main areas during regular hours. Tips are appreciated but isn’t necessary – unless they stop for food, carry luggage to cart, up stairs, etc. If you come super early or late, with excessive baggage (as many do) or need to go to far ends of island – the taxi fee will be more. The best advice it to ask the driver first and negotiate so expectations are clear for everyone. Keep in mind they are responsible for mechanical maintenance which is pricey as well as gas which can be $10 a gallon!
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance in case of any trip cancellation, medical expense, lost bags, airport delays, or hurricanes.
The best time to visit Belize is during the dry season, December until May. Temperatures are cooler and rainfall is decreased, though it is not unusual to have rain. The driest months are February and March, and the temperature then peaks in April and May. Reduced rates are offered on the off-season and a good time to visit is during our Lobster Festival which takes place at the end of June beginning of July.
